Beginning Baritone Playlist

The following playlists are a series of videos published professional music teachers. Their videos will take you step-by-step through buzzing on your mouthpiece, assembling and holding your trombone, and playing your first notes. If you wish to skip directly to a video, click on the icon in the upper right-hand corner of the video that looks like 3 lines with a triangle at the bottom; this will display the videos in the playlist.

The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own" out of Ft. Myer, VA, has an extensive playlist of beginning band videos. They are not separated out by individual instruments, so you'll have to look for the ones you need, but they are great videos by amazing professional musicians.

Beyond Beginning Band

Jazz at Lincoln Center has a great series of video masterclasses on how to improve specific techniques and styles of your playing. Every person featured is a professional musician with years of experience playing and teaching. Since baritone isn't a traditional jazz instrument, I've included both the trumpet and trombone playlists to peruse for relevant information. Their Jazz Academy page has a wide variety of videos you can check out as well.

The US Army Field Band also has a series of videos ranging from masterclasses and techniques, to full performances and guest artists. Peruse either the selected playlists below or check out their full channel or website.

'The President's Own' US Marine Band was founded in 1798 and has performed for every US President since John Adams, and is considered one of the finest professional musical ensembles in the country. Members have recorded instructional videos for individual instruments in the first playlist below, and the other linked playlists feature performances within your instrument & family.
