The Office of Faculty Affairs is pleased to welcome the 2026 cohort of academic faculty. The following events and activities have been designed to help and support you as you begin life in your new academic home.
The Executive Vice President & Provost is pleased to provide you with a professional portrait session with UNLV Photo Services. The session will last about 10 minutes. The images will be lightly retouched, color-corrected, and added to the UNLV Photo Services archive. Portraits taken during these sessions are free of charge, courtesy of the Provost's Office (usual fee $50). These sessions will be offered exclusively to new faculty and may fill up quickly.

The Office of Human Resources has scheduled a virtual employee onboarding and benefits session for new faculty.

During new employee and benefits orientation, the Office of Human Resources provides an introduction to UNLV and important information about its history and culture; policies and procedures; services and resources available to employees; workplace protection; health, retirement, and voluntary benefits; and more.
Sponsored by Human Resources, this New Employee Meet & Greet provides the opportunity to meet other new employees from across UNLV. Invites will be sent directly to your work email.
The Office of Faculty Affairs has partnered with NCFDD to provide a series of information sessions called New Faculty Academy. These sessions have been designed to prepare you for your first year and include monthly meetings in various locations across the Maryland campus to hear wisdom from current faculty on timely topics. You will also have the opportunity to network with other new academic faculty.

The RebelCard is your official UNLV ID during your entire affiliation with the university. It can be used at many facilities across campus, including the library. You can also deposit funds to your card (called RebelCash) and use it at numerous locations on and off campus. If you haven’t already secured your RebelCard, we strongly encourage you to stop by their office to get this set up.
