New Faculty Academy is a year-long professional development program designed to support new academic faculty as they navigate their first year at UNLV. Through faculty panels, networking activities, and practical resources, participants will explore timely topics such as balancing teaching, research, and service; managing stress and rejection; increasing the visibility of their work; building mentoring and collaborative networks; and planning for long-term success. Along the way, participants will gain practical guidance on key faculty processes and expectations, connect with colleagues from across the university, and build a supportive community that extends beyond New Faculty Orientation.

This kick-off session builds on New Faculty Orientation by introducing the New Faculty Academy and the Office of Faculty Affairs team. Connect with fellow new faculty, learn about UNLV Folio and key faculty processes through a year-at-a-glance schedule, and participate in an open Q&A to help you start your academic year.
