GENERAL POLICIES

Applies to all Springboard members, including retail businesses, groups/organizations and individuals.

  • Be considerate and respectful of others working in the space. Harassment, discrimination, or abuse of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • Wash dishes, cups, and cutlery belonging to you or 211 King immediately after use. Do not leave any dishware, cups or cutlery of any kind out in the open or in the sink. The overall cleanliness of the space hinges on our collective, concerted effort to take responsibility for the mess we create.
  • Remove all personal garbage, food, disposable plates/cutlery and beverage containers from the premises after use. Place them in the appropriate garbage or recycling container, or take them with you when you leave. Do not leave food or beverage in the fridge or freezer overnight.
  • Handle all production equipment with care. Report any damage to equipment or amenities.
  • You are free to use our computers, however, you are solely responsible for backing up your work onto a personal external hard drive, SD card or cloud storage app. UnLondon will not be held responsible for any loss, modification, or damage of files stored on our computers. Assume that UnLondon-owned computers, external hard drives & SD cards will be cleared or reformatted at any time, without notice.
  • Members are not permitted to produce content on UnLondon premises or with UnLondon equipment that contains discriminatory remarks or gestures related to a person’s race, gender identity, gender expression, sex, disability, sexual orientation, creed, age, or any other ground. Violation of this policy will lead to immediate termination of membership.
  • Members are responsible for providing their own SD card when signing out camera equipment.
  • Members are not permitted to use the space for overnight lodging or as a substitute dwelling.
  • Ask a staff member about locker availability before storing your belongings.
  • You must complete basic training before using the photo and sound studios. Please ask staff about scheduling.
  • Do not let strangers through the door outside of supervised hours (Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm).
  • All doors in 211 King st with the exception of the front entrance, are armed 24/7. Do not open any other door in the building without first asking staff. If you accidently set off an alarm, please email springboard@unlondon.ca immediately.

And although we can’t enforce this as a policy, we highly encourage getting to know other people working in the space. Creative collaboration is the primary impetus driving this initiative, for we believe that sharing knowledge is the path to personal and collective empowerment.

UnLondon reserves the right to terminate membership of any group, retailer or individual who violates any of the above policies.
