The first cycle of Institutional Reviews and Subject Reviews in Sri Lankan Universities was undertaken from 2004 to 2013 by the QAAC of the UGC based on the guidelines of the Quality Assurance Handbook for Sri Lankan Universities published by the CVCD in 2002.

The Distinction between Institutional Review, Programme Review and Subject Review

INSTITUTIONAL REVIEW- It analyses the effectiveness of an institution’s processes for managing and assuring the quality of academic activities undertaken by the institution. 

PROGRAMME REVIEW- It evaluates the effectiveness of the Faculty’s processes for managing and assuring the quality of study programmes, student learning experience and standards of awards within a programme of study. It is about management and assurance of quality at the programme level.

SUBJECT REVIEW- It evaluates the quality of the undergraduate student learning experience at a subject/departmental level. It is about management and assurance of quality at the subject/ departmental level.

The Programme Review of the first cluster of the Faculty of Arts, University of Jaffna was held from the period of 11th of September to 12th of January 2017/2018.  There were five self-evaluation reports submitted for review under five clusters. The clusters, groups of reviewers, study programmes, scores and grades are as follows:

The Programme Reviews Time Schedules at the faculty of Arts 

Programme Reviews for the General, Social Sciences and Humanities Clusters were held in 2017.

Programme Review for RAFA and Law study programme was held in 2018

The Site visits RAFA was held from 1st to 4th October 2018. 

The Site visits for Law study programme were held in September 2018.
