Celebrating Excellence: Dr. (Mrs.) S. Terensan Honoured with National Research Award 2023 

Dr. (Mrs.) Suvanthini Terensan, Senior Lecturer and Head/Department of Agriculture has brought great pride to our faculty by winning First Place (Non-Plantation Sector) at the National Awards for Excellence in Agricultural Research 2023, presented by His Excellency the President of Sri Lanka. This prestigious national recognition, organized by the Sri Lanka Council for Agricultural Research Policy (SLCARP) under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands, and Irrigation, celebrates outstanding contributions to the advancement of agricultural science and innovation in Sri Lanka.

She received this honor for her research titled: “Assessment of Pathogeography and Pathogenicity of the Blast and Brown Spot Diseases in Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Using Phenetic, Molecular, and Digital Image Sensing Approaches.” Her pioneering work has made a significant contribution to understanding and managing major rice diseases, supporting national efforts toward sustainable food security.
