Introduction
The Faculty Research Committee (FRC) is a subcommittee of the Faculty Board (FB) of the Faculty of Agriculture (FOA), University of Jaffna (UOJ), that facilitates and promotes the research activities carried out by the staff and students of the faculty. FRC will be focal point of all research activities of the faculty. FRC has broad responsibility for the enhancement of quality research, which is problem-solving, innovative, interdisciplinary, and technically sound to impact positively to meet the challenges faced by the on-farming communities, public and agro-based industries to uplift their productivity.
Main objectives:
FRC encourages and promotes research involvement among academic, supportive, and administrative staff, as well as students.
Focuses on quality research that is innovative, problem-solving, and technically sound.
Aims to improve the livelihood of farming communities through appropriate and advanced technologies.
Proposes solutions to global challenges in agriculture and food systems.
Coordinates Faculty–Industry–Community Partnership Research (FICR) activities.
Supports industry-community engagement to address regional and national challenges.
