Outstanding Doctoral Research Award

Gold Medal

Dr. (Mrs.) S. Sivakanthan received the Outstanding Doctoral Research Award – Gold Medal from the Board of Study in Food Science and Technology awarded by the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture (PGIA), University of Peradeniya for her PhD completed in 2024 at the PGIA Annual Congress 2025, held on 21st November 2025 at the Diamond Jubilee Auditorium, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya.

NRC Merit Award for Scientific Research

This award is given for each of the second 100 papers published in journals with the highest SCImago Journal Ranking (SJR), in which 20% or more of the authors of the publication are Sri Lankan scientists with a Sri Lankan institutional affiliation.

Dr.Mrs.Subajiny Sivakanthan was awarded NRC Merit Award for Scientific Research for a scientific research published in the year 2019 (Optimization of the production of structured lipid by enzymatic interesterification from coconut (Cocos nucifera) oil and sesame (Sesamum indicum) oil using Response Surface Methodology LWT 2019, Vol 101, pp 723-730)

Support Scheme for Supervision of Research Degrees (SUSRED) – 2020

Prof. (Mrs). N. Gnanavelrajah awarded for the Support Scheme for Supervision of Research Degrees (SUSRED) – 2020 in recognition of the supervision of MPhil of Ms. Abhiramy Thurairajah titled “Isolation of Denitrifying Bacteria and their potential use in Nitrate removal from well water of Jaffna District”. Awarded on 10th July 2023.

Late Dr. & Mrs. C. Jeyaratnam Memorial Gold Medal

This gold medal is awarded for obtaining highest OGPA in specialization in the subject of Agricultural Chemistry in the Award of Degree of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.
