The Culebra Island Giant Anole (Anolis Roosevelti) (CIGA) is a lizard from the Dactyloidae family. CIGA is most commonly found on an island in Puerto Rico called Culebra Island. This species can grow up to 6.3 inches in length, they are commonly a brownish grey color but can switch between two or three colors. They have two lines on each side of their bodies, and their fan is normally bordered by light yellow on the lower rear quarter. The CIGA are a critically endangered species, and this is mostly due to deforestation. I was drawn to this creature because they are endangered because of humans tearing down the forests. I believe that this is an example of animals who do not deserve what is happening to them. They are dying off because we are removing trees and that is not fair to them.
