The Ecosystem

The culebra island giant anole lives in a unique ecosystem there are no rivers or streams. However, there are both cactus and tropical trees and palms. It is referred to as an Arid Island.

They are vulnerable but not yet endangered.

Their Niche

The anoles' niches are trees. They live in the tree canopy area, lower trunk of the tree near the ground, and also mid-trunk area, and the twigs. A niche is where and what role the species plays.

Anoles and other species

There are not a lot of examples of how anoles interact with other organisms in their environment. I believe this is because Anoles have been facing extinction for many years and no matter how hard scientists try it keeps getting harder and harder to find anoles. Many believe that anole might be facing extinction because they have negative interactions with other species. This would make sense, as they are small creatures with nothing to protect them but themselves. There is an article that talks more about this possibility, it is from anole annals.
