The Culebra Island Giant Anole has a long and slender face, unlike other anoles which have short faces.
They have a brownish grey beard. The beard is a flap of skin under their chin. This is a way for communication.
The Culebra Island Giant Anole has a brownish grey body, their bellies are normally whitish, and their tells can be a yellowish brown. The dwell in tree canopies which might be why then are this color, to blend in with the trees and their surroundings.
The anoles have a very fascinating reproductive system. They actually have three dimorphic systems. They have portions of the limbic fore brain, which is what controls higher level or more motivational functions of sexual behavior. They also have both courtship and copulatory neuromuscular systems.
Anoles, like other animals have multiple types of immune responses. There is not much known about the anole's responses there have been some studies done, however with the dwelling numbers it has been harder for them to do research on this species.
The Culebra Island Giant Anole has a polygynous mating system. This means that the male anoles mate with multiple female anoles during their mating season. Their breeding season typically starts around April and ends in late September. The male anoles put on displays to attract mates.
