Most culebra island giant anoles inhabit culebra and vieques islands. These islands lie east of the Puerto Rico mainland. Currently scientists are unable to estimate the total number of the Culebra Island Giant Anole since there are so few numbers around.
Currently their status is critically endangered, it is also believed they might be extinct. There is in-place land, also known as water protection. There is only one of these and the location is unknown.
They are endangered due to their habitat being invaded and that they are targets of predators.
We may not be able to save this species as they may already be extinct but we can help other species like them by decreasing the amount of forest we cut down.
