Very interested
I am interested in the type of work that Ann Kasper developed. My teammates and I from the Criminal Justice Reformative Senior Capstone of Spring 2021 at Portland State University worked on a Resiliency project in partnership with the DOC to address issues that impact first responders and civilians in Oregon. We targetted resiliency issues such as work environment stressors that induce trauma affecting work that, consequently impacting people and BIPOC communities negatively. We conducted a research analysis on First Responders, finding some of the “best practice” methods used by some first responders across the U.S. and abroad. We proposed several solutions, mental health resources, training, and practices to implement in Oregon. We also proposed that these findings be included in the transformational and reformative reforms and especially implemented in actual practices in order to assure safety for civilians.
I would like to contribute to research and strategy planning on reformative work to ensure safety for community members. I am currently researching the ongoing Black femicide, and cases of DV and IPV where Black women and girls often do not report to law enforcement.
I have some knowledge of the issues, but no real experience or connections on this issue.
Very interest in this area but not a lot of experience.
