OLD MODEL:

ALTERNATIVE MODEL: 

• The research paper as part of an ongoing conversation.

• Maintains a respectful dialogue between you and your academic conversation partners; acknowledges and credits the ideas of others whose work supports or challenges your own.

• Actively engages the ideas of other scholars.

• Develops the skills to craft and support a reasonable argument and express oneself with confidence.

• Strengthens critical thinking skills.
