Grading
Courses will use standards-based teaching and grading (SBG) with traditional gradebook reporting. You will receive rubrics for each assignment with specific descriptors for each assessed skill within the major strands of language arts: reading, writing, and speaking and listening. Rubric scores will be converted into a percentage according to the Marzano scale (see Marzano explainer document) and then entered as the appropriate point value in Infinite Campus. There will be multiple opportunities throughout the semester to be assessed on skills and you will have the option to revise and resubmit assignments and/or complete optional reassessments to improve your scores. For each possible revision/reassessment, teachers will communicate with you about the required actions you must take in order to resubmit, and the teacher will set reasonable deadlines for resubmissions.
