Exhibition Banner
Students present their learning journey during the Personal Project Exhibition. To enhance that presentation, they create an exhibition banner. Early in the project, a draft of this banner is made as a way to evaluate where students are in their journey.
Readability: All text can be read from 5-10 meters distance. Visitors to the exhibition have to decide whether to engage with a student or not. They should be able to make this decision from a distance.
Meaningful imagery: Photos, screenshots or other image types show the end product, process of creation and use of the product. Photos should illustrate the depth of student learning and the high quality of the end product. Visitors to the exhibition have to decide whether to engage with a student or not.
High-resolution Photography: Photos will be printed on a banner of 60*160cm and should not be pixelated when inspected from up close. Photos should have a minimal resolution-width of 1280px.
Correct spelling: Spelling mistakes distract from the quality of the project that is being presented. Care must be taken to avoid both spelling and grammatical mistakes. When in doubt, a second reader should proofread all text.
The banners are printed on paper with on both sides a plastic protective film. This classifies them as recyclable in the category of drink cartons. Not bad, but not great either. We encourage students to:
Take their banner home and hang it up in their room. It is something to be proud of!
Donate the banner back to the school to:
Be hung in classrooms as examples and inspiration for our younger students
Be used as a material for design projects in MYP and DP Design classes.
Be used as a table covering in Arts and Design Classes for painting and glueing.
