Awarded to a Personal Project particularly born out of personal passion.
Awarded to: Isla Overall-Donald
Jury: Isla used the opportunity of the Personal Project to get a greater insight into how to help young people be informed about and cope with Type 2 Diabetes. Isla’s passion was clear from the quality of the book she created and the interactive way she expressed her learning during the exhibition. Though Diabetes is a relatively common predicament, there is still stigma around it. Isla is a great example of someone who thoughtfully breaks down that stigma.
Awarded to a Personal Project with a particularly thoughtful exploration of a STEM Topic.
Awarded to: Woojin Jeong
Jury: Woojin was selected for the STEM Award for his dedication to exploring the physics and coding behind a ball-shooting robot. He demonstrated a high level of scientific inquiry by not only building and coding the robot, but by also carefully designing experiments to test the impact of design choices on the robot’s performance. Woojin combined theoretical knowledge with practical application, resulting in an impressive STEM project.
Awarded to a Personal Project with a particularly impressive application of Approaches to Learning skills.
