BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT 2021

• 5:00 - 5:30 with JA and J1 Homeroom Teachers

• 5:30 - 6:00 with J2, J3 and J4 Homeroom Teachers

Note that the PreK "meet and greet" for parents with Ms. Nicholson and Mr. Duval already took place during the first week of school.

The Junior School Back to School Night for Homeroom and Mother Tongue Teachers is divided into 2 distinct presentations, asynchronous and synchronous:

• Pre-recorded video, by grade, created by Homeroom Teachers to share general curriculum information related to their grade (in place of the traditional presentation by the homerooms, as a team, to parents). These videos will be shared on Wednesday, September 22.

• Pre-recorded video, by Mother Tongue Teachers (Spanish and French), created by language teachers to share general curriculum information related to their grade (in place of the traditional presentation, as a team, to parents). These videos will be shared on Wednesday, September 22.

• A 20-30 minute live Zoom meeting with your child's Homeroom Teacher this Wednesday, September 22. Teachers will be able to share more about themselves, their philosophy in teaching, their homeroom's specific routines, and the expectations in their respective classes. Parents will be able to ask questions related to the curriculum and those routines.

• Mother Tongue Teachers will join the Homeroom Teachers with whom they partner to introduce themselves too. They will not stay during the entire meeting as most of them collaborate with 2 to 3 different homerooms.

Back to School Night for the Specialist Teachers and Language B teachers (French and Spanish) will be held live as a webinar at 5:00pm on Wednesday, September 29 hosted by the Principal and Assistant Principal. This 2nd Back to School Night will be an opportunity to learn more about our curriculum and to ask questions to our educative team of specialists and language teachers!

Please join our Student Support Team at 7:00pm on Tuesday, October 5 for our 1st JS Parent Coffee Webinar hosted by Pascal Vallet, JS Principal, Alessandra Camilo, JS Assistant Principal, Dr. Dana Marnin, School Psychologist, Alyssa Frost and Amy Iamundo, JS Counselors.

Our first JS Parent Coffee this year will be devoted to our Student Support Team:

• JS Psychologist: Dr. Dana Marnin (also PK & JA Counselor)

• Counselors: Amy Iamundo (J1 & J3) and Alyssa Frost (J2 & J4)

• ELL Teacher: Sidney Maas and Janine Pelegano

• Learning Support Teachers: Karen Ager and Carmen Escobar

This evening will be an opportunity to learn more about the work that the team does with our Junior School students and to ask questions.
