RE-ENTRY VEHICLES
RESEARCH IN RE-ENTRY VEHICLES
Mach Number vs Axial Distance
LES results for the capsule and the DGB parachute entering the atmosphere at Mach 2
Research focus on the aerothermodynamic analysis of a re-entry space capsule entering the Martian atmosphere at hypersonic speeds with the aim to support planetary entry system design studies.
Performing fully three dimensional CFD analysis to assess the flow field environment around the vehicle by:
Considering different angle of attacks in the ideal-gas atmosphere and the Martian atmosphere
Evaluate the aerothermodynamic parameters in terms of Cd, CL, pitching-moment coefficient, static Pressure, Density, Mach number, Static temperature, Mass fraction of CO2
