Marta was born in a small town in northern Italy, Codogno, in 1999.
In 2021 she obtained her B.Sc. in Chemistry at Università degli Studi di Pavia under the supervision of professor Filippo Doria. Her work was based on a bibliographic research on multimeric G-quadruplex structures. In October 2022 she joined the G4Lab, and she gained her M.Sc. in Chemical Sciences with full marks, defending a thesis entitled "Synthesis of herboxidiene derivatives as splicing modulators". Now, as a PhD student in the same group, she is continuing to work on the synthesis of these derivatives.
Outside the lab, Marta enjoys team sports and currently plays basketball, or at least she tries. She recently discovered that adventure park are not for her, but she’s always up for a challenge.
