Maria was born in 2001 in Telve, a small mountain village near Trento in Italy.
In 2023 she graduated in Chemistry at the University of Pavia with a thesis on the synthesis of hyperselective ligands for G-quadruplex with the help of Prof. Filippo Doria. Since October 2024 she is a Master student in the G4Lab where she works on total synthesis of some molecules that can potentially be used as splicing modulators. She successfully defended her thesis in July 2025, and graduated cum laude. Following this achievement, she started a PhD under the supervision of Prof. Filippo Doria, focusing on the development of novel antibacterial agents by exploiting the Chemspeed automated synthesis platform.
Maria is a shy and reserved person who likes reading, listening to music and crime podcasts, walking in the nature and spending time with her friends. She isn’t able to cook but she loves eating: her favourite food is sushi. Curiosity is one of her features: she is always ready to learn something new!
