Faculty Development, Distance Education and online learning systems in higher education


Scope

The main aim is to illustrate the current trends in online Faculty Development (FD) and to facilitate the exchange of experiences and experiments between those involved in the development of the teaching skills of academic teachers in distance learning.

More specifically, the special track focused on all the relevant topics for online higher education:

  • evaluation models, strategies and tools for Distance Education

  • training academic teachers to cope with the didactic and evaluation changes caused by the pandemic


Potential Scopes of Interest

The special track offers the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences on Faculty Development and online learning systems in higher education with all the actors and stakeholders involved at various levels, in the quality and innovation of university teaching (policy makers - such as ministerial representatives, institutes for the assessment of the quality of the university system, scientific and professional associations, local groups and teachers engaged in the enhancement of university teaching and in the innovation of Higher Education systems). A special focus will be done to the importance of online learning systems, to the virtual learning environments and to the distance methods for improving the performances of the universities and academic teachers’ professional development.
