Assistant professor (RTD-B) at the School of Science and Technology, Chemistry Division, of UNICAM.
He has a PhD in Chemical Sciences at UNICAM, he teaches “Environmental Chemistry " and "Environmental Chemistry and Laboratory" at the Bachelor and Master Degree Course in Chemistry and Geology, and “Practical Instrumental Analysis ” at School of Advanced Studies, UNICAM.
His research activity is principally focused on the field of the Environmental/Analytical Chemistry, in particular on environmental remediation by using photocatalytic nanomaterials and application of nanomaterials as adsorbent, green preparation and characterization of metal nanoparticles as sensor for the detection of target pollutant, bioremediation by Antarctic bacteria, analytical characterization of bacterial metabolites and natural compounds in different matrices by using analytical technique such as HPLC, Ion Chromatography, GC and ICP-MS.
The research is also focused on chemistry of water in hydrates formation with CO2 and CH4; Raman and SEM characterization of Gas Hydrates.
He is a Co-founder of IRIDES Srl, a spin-off company of UNICAM, he is also among the inventors of 4 patents in Irides portfolio.
He is member of the Doctorate Board of the University of Camerino, curriculum in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Biotechnology.

Her activity of Rita Giovannetti, in the field of Environmental / Analytical Chemistry, is related to: environmental remediation; functional nanomaterials for environmental applications: dye sensitized solar cells, adsorption and photocatalysis to remove pollutants; nanochemistry for sensors or activators, characterization and application of porphyrins and natural dyes; water chemistry and water depuration; chemistry of water in CH4 and CO2 gas hydrates; chemistry in bioremediation and bioproducts, speciation of particular pollutants and analytes in different environmental matrices.
She supervised 40+ master students, 2 postdocs, 6 Scholarship for research, and 6 PhD students.
She is member of the Doctorate Board of the University of Camerino, curriculum in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Biotechnology.
She is Vice-President and Co-founder of IRIDES Srl, a spin-off company of UNICAM, the activity of Irides S.r.l is based on the application of Antarctic bacterial strains that can be used in bioremediation and in the production of bioproducts. She is among the inventors of 4 patents held by Irides S.r.l. .
