Duration: 3 days/2 nights
Location, Singaraja, Buleleng (North Bali)
During the excursion, we will spend time with the children of Widhya Asih Orphanage in Singaraja.
From going on this excursion one can hope to learn several valuable lessons including:
Developing empathy and compassion: By spending time with the children, Undhira International Semester Program participants can gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by those deprived of family and social support. This can help to develop empathy and compassion for others.
Building interpersonal skills: Spending time with the children can help UISP participants to build interpersonal skills such as communication, active listening, and teamwork. These skills are essential in many professions and can also help students to build meaningful relationships in their personal lives.
Understanding cultural differences: Visiting an orphanage can expose UISP participants to different cultures and ways of life, helping them to broaden their perspectives and develop a more global mindset.
Learning about social issues: By interacting with the children and the staff at the orphanage, UIS participants can learn about the social issues that lead to Bali children living in an orphanage. This can help to raise awareness of these issues and inspire students to become advocates for change.
Developing a sense of responsibility: Visiting an orphanage can also help college students to develop a sense of responsibility towards those who are less fortunate. This can inspire them to get involved in charitable work or volunteerism, both of which can have a positive impact on their communities.
Overall, this excursion can be a valuable learning experience for UISP students, helping them develop important skills and perspectives that can benefit them personally and professionally.
Every UIS participant must present a video report.
