There she studied songwriting with Ben Camp and Cara DiGuardio, taking bass lessons from Victor Bailey and Lenny Stallworth as well as bassist Gary Willis while studying in Valencia, Spain. She recorded an album in SF in 2017, Bixou Bixou, with George Cole and Madeline Tasquin and formed her own trio in Washington with former classmates Conner Helms and Alex Roemmele. This trio played a series of tours down the West Coast and released a live album from their house concert series Bellingham Sessions in 2015, renaming themselves Triple Mood and playing the Lancaster Music Festival in Lancaster UK. In 2019 the trio released the EP "Stay Gold."
In 2018, Kaeli moved to Seattle and joined bands Hard Maybe on backup vocals and High Pulp on bass. Cam has been a dynamic member of the Seattle music scene since moving to the city in the fall of 2016. After joining a few bands and forming others he's settled on three. The Whags, Coral Grief, and Lightweight Champion showcase his variety and adaptability as a player. He's spent many hours in the studio recording with these groups and as a session player working at Avast Studios, Strange Earth Studios, MRX, Hazy Bay Music, The Unknown and Bear Creek Studios.
In the last few years he's taken up teaching as a way to pass along the musical baton and get others excited about the drums. Though his formal education in music ended after high school, Cam has been a life-long learner and strives to excite students with musical experiences they can't get in a traditional classroom. His lessons are grounded in exploration and cover the gamut of styles, feels and exercises that are available to the drummer.
In addition to playing in bands, Cam has managed The Whags and booked tours for that band and many others that have spanned across the western states.
