National Research Experience for Undergraduates Program

In 2018 I and Dr. Ajanta Roy (Bennett College) ran a summer NREUP program sponsored by NSF via the Mathematical Association of America. Four minority students—two from UNCG and two from Bennett College—worked in two teams on vaccination games projects. One group investigated optimal condom usage to prevent chlamydia, and another group worked on optimal personal protective strategies against MERS. Each project resulted in one student conference presentation and a paper being prepared for publication.
