Workforce Development is defined as training programs that provide existing and potential workers with the skills to complete tasks needed by employers to ensure the company/organization remains competitive in the global market. On-the-job training is so incredibly important as well as certification completions on more specific areas of the job. Workforce Development is used for individuals to have adequate skills for employment. Having highly skilled workers improves workplace productivity and increases organizational economic gain so it truly is a win-win situation.

1. achiever- Acheivers work hard and possess a great deal of stamina. They take immense satisfaction in being busy and productive.

2. belief- Individuals with great beliefs have certain core values that are unchanging. Out of these values emerges a defined purpose for their lives.

3. competition- Competitors measure their progress against the performance of others. They strive to win first place and revel in contests.

4. ideation- To be fascinated by ideas. They are able to find connections between seemingly disparate phenomena.

5. developer- Developers recognize and cultivate the potential in others. They spot the signs of each small improvement and derive satisfaction from the evidence of progress.

My highest skills fall into the four categories- executing, influencing, relationship building, and strategic thinking; however, I have two in executing (people in this category know how to make things happen).

Progress Ime

Progress has a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She has prior event planning experience as the President of the volleyball club for three years during college, and also worked as an event manager for Wingate University for three years.

Progress is responsible for coordinating the events that will take place during NPHW. She is involved throughout the planning process, secures the venue, gathers all items volunteers needed for the event, and makes sure the activities and timeline are being followed on the day of the event.

Public health is broad with a multitude of organizations to potentially work for in many levels. It's important to be aware of these organizations to capitalize on all available opportunities. I desire to work for more established organizations in government or hospital settings for non-NGO therefore companies like Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, Health Resources and Services Administration, North Carolina Division of Public Health, and North Carolina Dept, of Health and Human Services would be my most ideal fit.

Navigating how to effectively communicate to vastly diverse audiences with differing reading levels, educational statuses, life experiences, and age ranges is quintessential to promoting beneficial health initiatives. Creating this HIV infographic for 5th graders served as great practice for how to best articulate sensitive information but imperative knowledge to a young audience.
