power in written word.
While every section of this Eportfolio has writing, this section encompasses the type of writing I enjoy, my own advocacy work. The works included in this section touch on diversity, equity, and inclusivity. The works aim to uplift and empower, feelings that only be felt when one is surrounded by community.
support is everything.
When one feels supported he, she, or they can then be empowered to do just about anything because if they fall someone will be there to pick them up. Naturally, those with the greatest level of support feel less shame going after want they really want, they are afforded the opportunity to take risks, what a luxury.
connection to public health.
While the goal is for my readers to feel supported, I do too hope the work empowers them to be difference makers in their community. I want my writings to be the reason uncomfortable conversations began to happen and as we all heal, the path towards our most desired reality too suddenly becomes less distant.
Public health advocates for every facet of an individual's health and our health is so expansive. Mental wellness, economic stability, physical mobility, emotional support (just to name a few) really does shape the way we enter and show up in the world. Therefore, nourishing all areas of our being is imperative for us to become the healthiest version of ourselves.
