Progress-Jehosheba Ekemini Ime's ePortfolio
Hi, how are you today? Welcome to my page! Here you will find out more about me, discover my current passions and goals, and hear about a few of my past accomplishments. The information shared here will help you better understand why I am pursuing a master's degree in Public Health my concentration being Epidemiology.
My name is Progress-Jehosheba Ekemini Ime. The conception of me probably starts with my name; it’s not every day you meet a girl named Progress. May 2021 I graduated from Wingate University receiving my bachelor's in science by majoring in Biology with two minors in Chemistry and English. Taking no break, Fall 2021 I immediately jumped into pursuing a master's in public health at UNC at Charlotte.
For the majority of my undergraduate degree, I was set on going to dental school, my original undergraduate major being biology with a pre-dental focus. Becoming a dentist was my childhood dream, it was the only career I saw myself pursuing. However, after having a few shadowing experiences and realizing career-wise I desire and need some diversity, writing came into the picture. Spring 2019 I started working as a writing tutor for my former university, Wingate University. Here I discovered the creative openness and flexibility associated with writing; I also realized how writing can be used as a tool for advocating and implementing change towards the establishment of greater health equity. So now I’m a STEM girl that loves to write.
My life goals are not something that can be easily defined. I am a multifaceted individual that desires to fully leverage and utilize my skill set. My future career will include science- biology and chemistry, medicine, health, and writing. Public health is a field that can ensure jobs in government sectors and in hospital setting with the goal of establishing a more equitable society. I could also see myself as a medical editor or medical writer. If you hear of any opportunities that fit my interest or align well with my skill set please contact me at pime@uncc.edu! Enjoy the rest of my ePortfolio, trust me it gets better.
