Hello. My name is Janelle Barbour. I am a candidate for a Master's in Education: Learning, Designs and Technology. Currently, I am an HR Assistant Manager at Guilford Performance Textiles by Lear Corporation, as well as a part-time instructor for Business Law at Cape Fear Community College. My past experience includes 13 years in retail/customer service and 5 years as an administrative assistant in an academic library.
I am an advocate for education. Learning is a lifelong journey. It does not stop when you finish your desired education level. In home and school, we are taught the foundation of life skills and theories; however, every day we build on that foundation and expand our knowledge and skill set. Yet, each learner is different. As an HR Assistant Manager, I am the primary training for the facility. I try to make my trainings fun and interaction and use different techniques to enhance the learning of all individuals (i.e., sound, visuals, spatial, etc.). It is my goal to help my employer promote as much learning as possible within my ability. In addition, I teach students of all ages and background at a community college. Being able to reach my students in fun and interactive ways is very important to me. I wish to maximum my students learning so that the information they learn will continue with them.
