Integrating STEM + KC includes a STEM Student Advisory Panel who will share about their experiences as a college/university students majoring in STEM at the undergraduate and graduate level. The Student Panelists will join with conference participants in our June meeting in engaged small group discussions and also share their stories via a video storytelling format.

As part of the panel, the student advisors will:

  1. Work as a group with a professional storyteller to prepare their story.

  2. Serve as a resource for STEM Networked Improvement Communities.

  3. Record and share their STEM story via ISTEM+KC's story collection site.

Compensation:

For the above each student will earn compensation of $200.

Additional Opportunities:

A panel of judges will select the top 6 winning videos for cash awards of $500 to each winner. Students with winning videos will present as a part of a group panel for the ISTEM+KC meeting in June 2021. All videos will be shared via the story site to the ISTEM+KC community.

For questions about the Student Advisory Panel or the video competition, please contact Alexis Petri (petria@umkc.edu).
