SMART Chemical Manufacturing – Energy Efficient Factory of the Future

My research interest focuses on the development of a SMART chemical manufacturing for positioning the Malaysian chemical industries to the Industry 4.0 challenges. The Industry 4.0 holds the promise of increased flexibility in manufacturing along with mass customization for better quality and improved productivity. Intelligent manufacturing plays an important role in the vision to introduce Industry 4.0 concepts in the local industries.

My current research progress for SMART chemical manufacturing can be observed by four basic projects related to:

2. Data and Knowledge Driven Decision Making for Scheduling and Management.

3. Cyber-Physical Interaction-Based Plant-Wide Control and Optimization:

4. Integration of an Energy-Efficient and Sustainable Process:

In addition, my research also dedicated towards Engineering Education research especially the implementation of Student Centred Learning in chemical engineering class.
