Task: Responsible in supporting the Dean to steer the direction of faculty’s leadership towards achieving the faculty’s strategic goals related to teaching and learning as well as internationalization, which include enrichment of student’s immersive learning experience as well as implementation of ongoing professional development for faculty’s academic personnel.
Academic Responsibilities:
Overseeing the academic programmes offered by the Faculty of Engineering, including diploma’s, bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD programmes in engineering and related fields
Ensuring that the faculty’s academic programmes align with the university’s mission and vision
Coordinating with programme heads to develop new courses and programmes that relevant to industry needs
Monitoring the quality of teaching and student learning outcomes, and implementing improvements as needed
Providing guidance and support to faculty members in their teaching, research, and service activities
International Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing internationalization strategies for the Faculty of Engineering, including student exchange programmes, international research collaborations and cross-cultural innitiatives
Building partnerships with international engineering schools/faculties and organizations, such as industry partners, professional associations, and international funding agencies
Facilitating the participation of faculty and students in international conferences and workshops, and promoting their research and academic achievements globally
Ensuring that the Faculty of Engineering is compliant with international accreditation standards, such as those set by the Washington and Dublin Accords, and promoting its recognition in international academic circles
