International Conference on
Built Environment & Smart Construction
BESCON 2026
The conference serves as a premier platform for researchers, professionals, policymakers, and industry leaders to exchange ideas, share innovations, and discuss future directions in the built environment sector. With the main theme “Smart, Digital, Sustainable: Transforming the Built Environment,” BESCON 2026 aims to explore how digital technologies, sustainable design, and smart construction practices can collectively shape more resilient, inclusive, and future-ready cities. The conference promotes multidisciplinary dialogue across architecture, quantity surveying, construction management, engineering, and urban planning disciplines. Participants will have the opportunity to present research papers, engage in panel discussions, and network with global experts to foster collaboration and knowledge transfer. Through this platform, BESCON 2026 aspires to inspire transformative approaches that drive innovation and sustainability in the built environment — aligning with the global agenda for greener, smarter, and more livable communities.
Smart and Sustainable Cities:
Focusing on innovative approaches to urban development that integrate technology, sustainability, and resilience. Topics include smart city planning, digital urban governance, low-carbon communities, circular economy strategies, and adaptive infrastructure for climate resilience and disaster management.
Digitalisation and Innovation in Construction:
Highlighting the transformative role of emerging technologies in shaping the construction industry. Areas of interest include Building Information Modelling (BIM), digital twins, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, automation, blockchain, smart contracts, and the use of virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) to enhance project design and delivery.
Green Construction and Environmental Performance:
Promoting sustainable practices through innovation in construction materials, green technologies, and waste minimisation. Research related to life-cycle assessment (LCA), energy-efficient design, carbon footprint reduction, regenerative architecture, and nature-based solutions is highly encouraged.
Project Delivery and Smart Management:
Exploring strategies for improving productivity, efficiency, and quality throughout the project lifecycle. Topics cover smart procurement, digital project controls, contract and risk management, safety systems, lean construction methods, and Industry 4.0 applications in project execution.
Society, Heritage, and Built Environment Culture:
Examining the social and cultural dimensions of the built environment, including heritage conservation, adaptive reuse, inclusive design, and community resilience. Contributions addressing social sustainability, urban identity, and the role of education and policy in advancing the built environment are welcome.
Publication opportunity subject to the decision by the editors and peer-reviewers, all accepted papers will be considered for publication in either:
i) Scopus-indexed journal (with additional fee); or
