Module 5
Writing an abstract
Writing an abstract
An abstract is a brief summary scientists write to tell others about a research project. Abstracts are short, and tell the reader important information about the research that was done. In this module, you'll write an abstract to summarize what you did and found in your project. Your abstract will be submitted to the scientific conference - SRCD - for review. Accepted submissions will be displayed as posters at the conference in April.
There are five main questions that you will answer in your abstract:
What topic did you research and why did you choose it?
What were your research questions and hypotheses?
What type of design did you use? Was it an interview, online survey, or literature review?
How did you go about collecting data? What questions did you ask?
What were your results?
What did you learn from your project?
