The Cabinet is the decision-making body of the Executive Branch. The President and the Cabinet issue Executive Orders to conduct official PSG business. The Executive Branch also actively represents professional students at the University in meetings with key leaders.
The Cabinet meets every first Tuesday of each month (except Sept.), at 7PM. Dates: 9/9/2025, 10/7/2025, 11/4/2025, 12/2/2025, 1/6/2026, 2/3/2026, 3/3/2026, 4/7/2026, 5/5/2026, 6/2/2026, 7/7/2026, 8/4/2026.
Flora Yang
President
Flora is a 3rd year medical school student at the University of Minnesota. She is originally from Eden Prairie, MN, where she lived with her parents and younger brother. Flora graduated from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, where she served as the 2022-23 Student Body President and 2023-24 Chair to the student representative to the Board of Regents, and 2024-25 Vice President of PSG. She is excited to continue to empower student voices this year!
Pete Smith
Vice President
Pete is a medical student at the Duluth campus of the University of Minnesota. Originally from Stillwater, he studied Spanish and Biology at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. While there, he volunteered then worked at HealthFinders Collaborative as a Spanish medical interpreter, in informatics, and logistics. After that, he lived in Germany for a year both learning German and exploring film and photography. Pete is firmly dedicated to improving health equity by both practicing in underserved areas and advocating for a variety of policy changes at the local, state, and national levels to meaningfully address these disparities.
Gabriel Graves

Gabe is a third-year medical student at the Duluth campus of the University of Minnesota. Originally from Esko, MN, Gabe studied Biology and minored in Deaf language and culture at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. Between undergrad and medical school, they worked as a sign language facilitator in the Duluth public schools, lived a summer on a boat, and biked around Lake Superior. Gabe is passionate about advocating for and providing care to individuals who use sign language, aiming to improve accessibility and inclusivity in healthcare.

Taylor Lees

Taylor is a fourth-year medical student at the Twin Cities campus. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned a Master of Public Health here at the University of Minnesota before starting medical school. As a medical student, she is passionate about merging systems-level advocacy with individualized intervention, a mission that also guides her involvement in PSG. She previously served as PSG representative for the School of Public Health from 2020 to 2022 and returned to represent the medical school during the 2024-25 academic year. This year, she is excited to take on more responsibility as a member of the executive board and eager to continue to uplift professional student voices!
Grace Tamms

Grace is a second year dual degree social work and public policy student at the University of Minnesota. They are originally from the Chicago suburbs, and recently moved back to Minnesota after graduating from St Olaf College with their BSW. Grace is dedicated to supporting civic engagement at all levels, and encouraging others to turn their passion into action. Between West Wing rewatches, Grace enjoys collecting more books than they could ever read and snuggling with their two cats.
Lynna Ngo

Lynna is a third-year medical student at the University of Minnesota. Originally from Fargo, ND, she earned her undergraduate degree at Brown University, where she was heavily involved in advocating for and building community among first-generation students. At the University of Minnesota, she has worked with the Center for Interprofessional Health to help coordinate the Student Leadership Conference and CLARION Case Competition. She is excited to help plan the Spring Gala and create meaningful ways for professional students to connect!
Vera Barkosky

Vera is a second-year law student at the University of Minnesota Law School. As an undergraduate student at the University of Iowa, Vera served as Student Body Vice President and routinely consulted with university administration, the Board of Regents, and elected officials. She is looking forward to collaborating with the University of Minnesota’s Board of Regents and other student representatives to address the needs of professional students.
