The U of M Twin Cities campus houses the Academic Support Resources (ASR) business analyst who manages the script that collects the PSEO and concurrent enrollment student and course information from PeopleSoft. This information is called the data extract. The business analyst captures this data for PSEO and concurrent enrollment twice a year; the dates vary by program.
Run the data extracts for PSEO and current enrollment according to the specified timelines.
Work with system campuses to correct errors. The system campuses should do their own corrections, but the analyst might need to help them navigate PeopleSoft.
Once the system campuses have approved the data extracts, the analyst should upload the extract to MDE's Sharepoint site.
The analyst will provide copies of the uploaded data extracts to the System Campuses Dual Enrollment Files Google drive for each of the system campuses. This copy allows the system campuses to investigate issues that might arise after the information has been uploaded to the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). For example, if a high school indicates information the U of M submitted to MDE is wrong, the system campus can confirm the information that was uploaded to MDE.
Update PeopleSoft School Code as needed when new high schools are created. The School Code is the school district where the high school is located.
To get access to the MDE Microsoft SharePoint server, contact Jeanne Krile via phone. Discuss the access with her and explain that the new person should have the same access as the person leaving the ASR analyst role. We are an anomaly regarding how we upload our data. Most Minnesotat State schools each have their own SharePoint server to upload data, but we only use one server to upload all of our data files.
During one of the bi-annual MDE meetings with the U of M Twin Cities campus, invite the new analyst to join.
Send email to the system campus contacts letting them know of this staff change.
Update contact information.
The UMT business analyst position is located in the Academic Support Resources (ASR) department on the Twin Cities campus. This department has all of the documentation on the data extract script as well as how to change the PeopleSoft School Code.
