Boowon Kim is a Ph.D. Apparel Studies student with a MDes in Fashion, Body, and Garment at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago. Her research's overarching goal is to support apparel design for sustainability by reducing environmental impact during garment production and consumption. As a part, her research focuses on reducing textile waste during garment production and increasing the longevity of garment use. She attempts to achieve that by design, mainly by exploring the limitless potential of apparel design approaches supporting sustainable and circular use.
