Reduce Injuries and Fatalities by Reducing Speed
There are many factors already in place to help mitigate the impacts of speeding; however, they become less effective as speed increases: Higher driving speeds mean higher speeds at impact and hence greater impact force, which reduces the effectiveness of vehicle safety systems (e.g., seatbelts, crumple-zones, and airbags) and roadway safety hardware (e.g., guardrails, barriers, and impact attenuators).
