THP Study
Training for Health Professionals

Tanzania has among the worst sexual and reproductive health statistics of any country, yet health professionals receive almost no training on how to address sexual health concerns. To address multiple intersecting sex-related epidemics, and to train the professionals who do everything from staffing clinics to writing national policy, this study develops a rigorous new curriculum for  healthcare workers in Tanzania.  Using a randomized controlled trial of the intervention (curriculum) against a waitlist control, we will test health workers' skills to effectively address sexual health concerns.
