The purpose of the Minnesota Inclusive LTSS for LGBTQ+ Seniors (MILLS) Study is to improve the health and safety of LGBTQ+ older adults receiving care in nursing homes and assisted living facilities in Minnesota. The MILLS Study has three parts.
In 2022, we conducted a state-wide policy survey for nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
In 2023, the study team began developing a training program for nursing homes and assisted living staff about LGBTQ+ care.
In 2024, we will test the new curriculum in partnership with Rainbow Health.
