We are looking for 6-year-olds to join our study investigating children’s performance on sentence repetition tasks.

Who Can Join?

To participate, children must...

• Be 6 years old at the time of the study

• Have a caregiver present for the duration of the session who is willing to fill out forms and surveys

• Have a caregiver who can speak and understand English 

• Be a native speaker of English (had a caregiver speaking to the child in English from birth)

• Have no current or past speech, language, or hearing disorders

What Will Happen?

Children will...

• Spend about 20 minutes completing an articulation screener, grammatical language test, nonverbal IQ test, and hearing screening

• Spend about 20 minutes completing a sentence repetition task, in which the child will watch a video of a person saying a sentence and then repeat it

• Answer questions about the people saying the sentences

• Recieve a prize for participating.

Caregivers will...

• Be present for the entire duration of the study

• Complete a questionnaire about their child’s communication skills

• Receive $30 for participating in the study
