2017-2021

Dec 29, 2017: Dr. Pang officially joins in the Department of Pharmaceutics,  University of Minnesota!

May 2018: Dr. Pang's paper, which is a collaboration with Dr. Sailor and his group at UCSD, is published in Nature Communications! Immunogene therapy with fusogenic nanoparticles modulates macrophage response to Staphylococcus aureus

Mar 2019: Dr. Pang will present a talk at Cold Spring Harbor Aisa Meeting (Bacterial Infection & Host Defense) in April, Suzhou, China

Mar 2019: The first Pang lab's paper has been accepted to the Journal of Controlled Release! Congrats to Tang and Yushuang!

Jul  2019: Dr. Pang received a 4-yr R01 grant from NIGMS titled "Deciphering the nanomaterial uptake in a bystander manner invoked by coadministration of functionalized nanoparticles". 

Jul 25 2019: Our paper, "Cellular internalization of bystander nanomaterial induced by TAT-nanoparticles and regulated by extracellular cysteine", has been accepted by Nature Communications! Congrats to Yushuang (first author) and Tang.

Nov 2019: Our paper, "Rapid chelator-free radiolabeling of quantum dots for in vivo imaging", has been published in Nanoscale. Congrats to Tang Tang!

Jan 2020: Dr. Pang has been awarded a UMN-Mayo Partnership grant in total cost of $878,000! The grant is intended for improving the drug delivery efficiency to a pediatric brainstem cancer

Mar 2021: Our paper "iRGD-liposomes Enhance Tumor Delivery and Therapeutic Efficacy of Antisense Oligonucleotide Drugs Against Primary Prostate Cancer and Bone Metastasis" has been accepted for publication at Advanced Functional Materials. Congrats to Jibin Guan and Hong Guo, as well as all co-authors!

Apr 2021: Our paper "Transportan peptide stimulates the nanomaterial internalization into mammalian cells in the bystander manner through macropinocytosis" has been accepted for publication at Pharmaceutics. Congrats to Yuexuan and all co-authors!

May 2021: Our paper "Membrane-curvature-mediated co-endocytosis of bystander and functional nanoparticles" has been accepted for publications in Nanoscale, which is a collaborative effort with Dr. Kai Yang at Soochow University, China. Congrats to Yushuang, who's co-first author!

Sep 2021: Dr. Pang was invited to give a seminar at the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University of Utah.

Dec 2021: Our paper "Extracellular vesicles mediate the intercellular exchange of nanoparticles" has been accepted for publications in Advanced Science. Congrats to Dr. Xian Wu and all co-authors for very nice work!

Dec 2021: Dr. Pang was awarded with an OACA faculty research development grant for the project "Peptide-targeted delivery to improve the efficacy and safety of corticosteroid drugs against rheumatoid arthritis", which is in collaboration with Dr. Tanya Freedman from the Department of Pharmacology!

2022-present

Mar 2022: Our paper "Synergistic entry of individual nanoparticles into mammalian cells driven by free energy decline and regulated by their sizes" has been accepted for publication in ACS Nano. Congrats to Dr. Yushuang Wei and all co-authors for this fabulous work!

Jun 2022: Dr. Pang delivers poster and podium presentations titled " peptide-guided delivery improves the therapeutic efficacy and safety of glucocorticoid drugs for treating inflammatory diseases" at American Peptide Society annual symposium, Whistler, BC, Canada.

Aug 2-5 2022: Dr. Pang and Dr. Xian Wu delivers poster presentations at GRC-drug carriers in medicine and biology, West Dover, Vermont

Aug 18 2022: Farewell to Dr. Yushuang Wei, who will join in Chinese Academy of Science, Shenzhen, Guangdong! Best wishes to the exciting next step of his academic career!

Aug 24 2022: Our paper "Co-administration of Transportan peptide enhances the cellular entry of liposomes in the bystander manner both in vitro and in vivo" has been accepted for publication in Molecular Pharmaceutics! Congrats to Yuexuan Li and Nianwu Wang, who are the co-first authors!

Sep 22, 2022: Congratulations to Dr. Hong Guo for winning the Abstract Award at the Pharmacology Retreat, University of Minnesota!

Oct 12, 2022: Our paper ""Identification of an ALK-2 inhibitor as an agonist for intercellular exchange and tumor delivery of nanomaterial" has been accepted for publication in Advanced Therapeutics. Congrats to Dr. Xian Wu (first author) and all co-authors for this wonderful work!

Jan 4, 2023: Our paper "Peptide-guided delivery improves the therapeutic efficacy and safety of glucocorticoid drugs for treating acute lung injury" has been accepted for publication in Molecular Therapy. Congrats to Dr. Hong Guo (first author) and all co-authors for this fabulous work!

Apr 2023: We say farewell to Dr. Hong Guo, Yuexuan Li (PhD graduate), and Jiaqi Zhao (MS graduate)! Best luck to their future jobs. Meanwhile, we welcome new members in the fall semester: Mitch Kowalke (PhD candidate), Nianwu Wang (PhD candidate), Haechan Kim (PhD candidate)!
