Students receiving support from Center funds (provided through HRSA) must:
be a citizen of the US or a foreign national having in their possession a visa permitting permanent residence in the United States, or a non-citizen national.
contribute to a Student Spotlight feature
attend four Center-or MCHSIG-sponsored events/year:
only Center/MCHSIG-sponsored events appear on our webpage (i.e. anything appearing on our events page or calendar would fulfill this requirement)
we always acknowledge which events are Center-or MCHSIG-hosted in weekly newsletters to students, and in our monthly Healthy Generations newsletter "Announcements" and "Center Events" Sections.
participate in the SPH Mentor Program (2026+)
be currently enrolled for a minimum of 3 credits in the UMN MCH Program at the time of their deployment
fill out any paperwork required by the agency or organization they're deployed to
attend a one-time deployment orientation session hosted by the Center (this is different than your site orientation with your site supervisor)
complete Center surveys in timely fashion
Students cannot use positions to teach or fill TA appointments, or hold multiple Center-funded positions (with the exception of MCHSIG executive committee and other time-limited positions).
