Our Vision
To see Indigenous People thrive in astronomy and astrophysics, again as always.
Our Mission
Assist Indigenous students of Turtle Island and beyond to find their way and persist in pursuit of advanced STEM degrees, while retaining and even growing and expanding their own cultural competencies, interests and expressions as a means of balance between STEM and CLAH (Culture, Languages, Arts and Humanities).
Encourage interdisciplinary approach to science and research that is deeply ingrained in the culture of the Indigenous Sky-Earth People, while maintaining the full spectrum of STEM and CLAH in balance. "Research is Ceremony" - Shawn Wilson, Cree (2008)
Support the unique identities and expressions of Indigenous STEM that are often unseen by both non-Indigenous and Indigenous People. See the unseen and hear the unheard by recognizing patterns in the data observed throughout the cosmos as shared with all our relatives. It is said that "we see by heart as well as mind." It is also said that "we come from the stars and to the stars we return. We come from the earth and to the earth we return. So between Sky and Earth we are to be better relatives each day."

Please slowly sip and savor, rather than swiftly swill and swallow from this site! As you experience this introductory site, please be patient, persevering and open to making new connections. It will take time to recognize and reinforce patterns before they become intuitive and second nature. Visual and topical symbolism has been layered into subtle repetitions and new contexts.
Each section introduces new context and connections between concepts. Over time and with exposure, you will appreciate more "connections" at deeper levels of awareness. Indigenous symbolism and non-alphabetic, word-like, imagery is audio-visual. It is usually more cyclical/circular/elliptical and non-linear than a Roman-numeral style, alpha-betically written, linear exposition of ideas all in a row...start to finish.
