Purpose

The program manual is a tool with key policies and required procedures as well as general information and delineation of expectations and responsibilities, to ensure a clear and smooth transition through successful completion of fellowship training.

This fellowship manual is specific to the Division of Infectious Diseases and International Medicine in the Department of Medicine. Its policies are written in accordance with the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and the University of Minnesota GME Institution Policy Manual. Policies apply to all educational experiences within the program and are subject to periodic review and change by the Program Director, with input from fellows, faculty, division director and department chair. Fellows are responsible for knowing and adhering to the policies and guidelines contained in this handbook. When in doubt, fellows are responsible for contacting the program coordinator or director.

The information contained in this Policy Manual pertains to everyone in the ID Fellowship program except as otherwise identified.
