The program by itself does not require CPR certification; life support certification requirements are hospital-specific. M Health Fairview does not require CPR certification for ID Fellows. Please contact your coordinator for further information.
The Minnesota Board of Medical Practice requires, at a minimum, that fellows have a current residency permit before they are allowed to have hands-on patient care. In-coming fellows are responsible for submitting correct application for this permit to The Board. The program, through the program director, will approve a two-year training period. Any training that extends beyond two years, will require an extension that must be approved by the program director and The Board. Any cost fellows incur from this process is reimbursed by the program. Please see the program coordinator for further details.
Should a fellow wish to apply and receive a medical license, please note that one should allow for 4-6 months for this process. The cost of a license is wholly the responsible of the fellow. If a fellow obtains a Minnesota medical license, it will supplant the residency permit and the fellow is required to notify the program coordinator and keep it current throughout the remainder of the fellowship program. A scanned copy of the medical license must to be uploaded in New-Innovations. Please contact the program coordinator for more information.
