I am an Associate Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Minnesota. I completed my training at The Pennsylvania State University and am a licensed psychologist. As an applied researcher, I engage in research with the aim to bridge the research-to-practice gap to support students with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties (SEBD) in schools. In my work, I engage an equity-lens in an effort to better understand: what works, for whom, and under what conditions.
The primary aim of my research program is focused on the implementation and sustainability of evidence based practices in schools with the objective to improve outcomes for children who experience SEBD. This overarching goal is supported by three distinct but interrelated strands of research:
obtaining valid data in the assessment of SEBD;
identifying effective practices in assessment and intervention for SEBD; and
linking assessment to effective intervention within multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) in order to improve data-based decision-making practices for students with SEBD.
