Fill out the New Employee Form (electronic, requires sign-in).
Once submitted, a request for approval will be routed to the listed supervisor, then routed to cluster staff for processing.
Filling out this form ensures department staff can create mailbox, add to appropriate listservs, lab roster, etc.
HR On-boarding
Schedule a CBS HR on-boarding appointment by emailing CBSHR@umn.edu.
Please note, Julia Sherbert (sherb073@umn.edu) is the HR Generalist responsible for EEB.
Health and Safety / Training
Health and Safety
Health and Safety is handled at the university by the Department of Environmental Health and Safety (DEHS).
A list of requirements from DEHS upon opening your lab can be found here.
To officially notify the University of the opening of your lab, email DEHS, the CBS Facilities Manager, and the Department Facilities Representative.
Training
Safety training is required for all employees, students, and volunteers prior to starting work in your lab. Depending on the type of work that is done in your lab, different trainings are required.

Access
Visit Key/U-Card Access Requests for space access.
Employees and Volunteers
If an individual working in the lab is a minor (under the age of 18) the individual and the lab are required by law to complete additional paperwork.
