Understanding the purpose and objectives of the project informs why the community conversation is needed. As the facilitator, it is important to keep the purpose and objectives in mind so that conversations stay focused and achieve what it was intended to do.
To facilitate a discussion among the stakeholders in Duluth's creative economy that informs a shared understanding of what the creative economy in Duluth looks like, how it benefits the community, and how it can be strengthened and supported moving forward.
Create a shared understanding of the creative economy concept (and reality)
Develop methods and tools to identify and engage regional actors in the creative economy
Communicate the concept, and conclusions to participants, stakeholders, and key decision-makers.
The community conversation is designed into two half-day or 3-hour sessions.
Considering the availability of participants and key stakeholders, the first session could be held in the early evening and the second session could be held the following morning. However, the timing of the conversation should be determined based on availability.
Food will also be included as an incentive for participation and as a source of energy, but moreso for the purpose of supporting local businesses.
